The Endowment Fund

Established in 2011, this Fund (previously known as the Memorial Fund), was created to receive gifts to enhance the mission,  outreach and special needs of the congregation, apart from general contributions.  Income generated by the Fund can be distributed upon the approval of the Congregation Council.


Miriam R. Lessig Outdoor Announcement Board Fund

This fund, established by William Lessig, Jr. in 2005, is for the maintenance and replacement of the Church outdoor announcement board. Net income is available for use.

 William C. & Anna A. Fry Fund

A Fund established in 1983 for the purchase of capital items for the Church.  Net income is available as needed.

Reformation Evangelical Lutheran Church
of Reiffton Scholarship Fund

This Fund was established in 2005, by James Fegley in  memory of his wife Pat.  The Fund provides yearly award[s] to Reformation members attending an institution of higher learning.  Net income from the Fund is available for distribution.  A committee oversees selection of award recipients.  Applications are available on the Church
website.

Endowment Funds
Donations Policy

Contributions can be made to all Funds in any amount and will be added to Fund principal. Gifts may be in the form of cash, stock, will bequests, beneficiary designations (IRAs
life insurance, etc.) or other estate planning techniques. All Funds are managed by the Endowment Committee, in accordance with the Reformation Investment Policy and specific Fund directions.

 

Fund Administration
Investment Policy

Fund assets are invested in a balanced portfolio of equity, fixed income and cash equivalent securities and in accordance with  any specified guidelines outlined in Fund documents. Investment funds shall be diversified to minimize risk. Specific policy objectives and restrictions are contained in the Church Endowment Funds            Investment Policy dated,  February 2011, as amended.

Endowment Committee

An Endowment Committee is entrusted with administration of all the Funds.  The Committee reports to the Congregation Council on at least a quarterly basis.

General Information

Church members may contribute to any of the Funds.  Bequests made through wills, should be made in   accordance with all requirements of the Commonwealth of PA.  All donations to Funds will be recorded by the Endowment Committee,reviewed by the Congregation Council and invested immediately in the appropriate Fund. All questions concerning any Fund should be    directed to the Endowment Committee or Church Treasurer.
